This former palace of empress Eugenia de Montijo of France (wife of Napoleon III) stands in Toledo's ancient quarter. Given as a wedding present to the Spanish doña in 1853, later the home of several noble families, this fascinating spot has been lovingly restored as a hotel and a tribute to Empress Eugenia.
The refreshingly contemporary interiors of the Eugenia De Montijo are designed to feel like a journey through her life. The breakfast room, with clean lines and bright decor, is inspired by her exquisitely-mirrored dressing room. Restaurant Federico is named for her favorite designer. There’s even a marzipan corner, for guests to enjoy her favorite treat.
The subterranean Eugenia’s Bath spa features an ancient wall built by Visigoths, and the remains of an aqueduct dating back to Roman times. It also features a pretty wonderful orchid body wrap treatment!
