Despite its stunning location in the beautiful Sierra Madre Oriental mountains, Monterrey hasn’t yet attracted too many tourists. But, this northern Mexican city at the crossroads between the United States, Mexico, and the world, is a place to explore. One of Monterrey’s top spots to explore is the Museo de Arte Contempóraneo, aka the MARCO. With hot weather year-round, Monterrey has a strong barbecue tradition, which you can explore at restaurant Koli Cocina de Origen. Hikers, meantime, will love Cerro de la Silla. While you can get a good view of it from the hotel, it’s worth making the trek to admire it up close. Named for the saddle-like shape of its double peaks, the hike features great views and beautiful wild flowers.
