Lime Tree Hotel, London, UK

Lime Tree brings the charm of a countryside inn to an historic Georgian townhouse in upscale Belgravia. We love it for the dreamy textural design touches, doting staff, and peaceful walled garden oasis that make this London’s best kept secret hideaway.

About

Inspired by an independent spirit, family owners Matt and Charlotte Goodsall have created the perfect cozy hotel without any of the hang ups of big box hospitality for a truly boutique experience. Housed in a centuries old Georgian townhouse, Lime Tree is a respite from London’s bustling streets with the convenience of being tucked away in buzzy Belgravia. A veritable oasis of British minimalism and craftsmanship, the rooms are reminiscent of a bucolic inn with soft neutrals and mixed textures taking center stage. The walled garden, modern farmhouse decor, and comfort food menu at The Buttery have made this a favorite stop for those in the know.

Pop down to The Buttery to start your day, or treat yourself to a snack anytime. The rustic-chic retreat is a gathering place for locals and visitors alike with their brunch classics, full English breakfast, and homemade sweets. Local coffee from The Gentlemen Baristas, and of course specialty teas, are available throughout the day in this laid back luxury hangout.

Location

Located in south Belgravia, right near the Victoria Tube station, you’ll have easy access to both the small town vibe of Lime Tree’s neighborhood plus all the sights and charm of nearby Kensington and Chelsea (you’re a stone's throw from Kings Road and the Saatchi Gallery, which you won’t want to miss). There’s plenty to see within blocks of Lime Tree too, from neighboring Elizabeth Street, a common suggestion for “London’s prettiest street,” to coffee houses, local restaurants, and independent boutiques.

Take a walk to South Kensington for icons like The Natural History Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Science Museum—all free to visit. You’re perfectly placed for excursions throughout the city. Walk two minutes to reach High Street Kensington and the well-connected Tube station, hop a quick cab to Mayfair for London's most beautiful shopping, or the cobblestoned cul-de-sacs of Notting Hill. Pop across the Thames for an authentic Japanese pagoda at The Peace Pergola, and the prim-and-proper English garden at Battersea Park (while here, walk across our personal favorite, Albert Bridge, one of the most gorgeous in the city’s many bridges).

Travel with Impact

Grounded in their beliefs and executing their vision of warm and intuitive hospitality, owners Charlotte and Matt Goodsall are committed to remaining a family-run boutique hotel. Rest well knowing that while you’re here, you’re supporting local suppliers and small, family-businesses that make-up Lime Tree and its vendors. If there was ever a time to support local, it’s now.
